Torque bar 90 Nm - yellow
When used in combination with an impact wrench, the torque attachment prevents the wheel bolt from overtightening beyond the prescribed 90 Nm.
It is most often used when a large number of bolts need to be tightened to the same torque. Most often, however, when changing the wheels on a car. With the help of these attachments, all bolts are tightened very quickly with a torque wrench to approx. 80-90% of the manufacturer's prescribed torque, and then the final tightening with a calibrated torque wrench is fine-tuned.
Each attachment has its tightening torque limit on it. The attachment is made of flexible steel, so the energy transferred from the tightener (or from a single impact - the tap), which would otherwise further tighten the bolt, is consumed by this twist.
The extension always returns to its original (untwisted) state between each tap of the tightener. For this reason, torque attachments only work when used with impact tighteners and will not work on hand tools (e.g. ratchets).
The accuracy of the attachments is rather approximate (roughly +/- 10%). It is important to stop tightening when it can be seen that neither the bolt nor the attachment is turning anymore (the bolt is no longer tightening).
The material of the extension will gradually fatigue with intensive long-term use. Therefore, a straight line is printed along the entire length of the extension. As long as this line is straight, the extension maintains its properties and the marked torque is valid. However, as soon as this line becomes crooked, it indicates that the material has been permanently deformed and the jig must be replaced with a new one.
